Virtual Choir Indonesia Menyanyi: Eksplorasi Komunikasi Seni dan Teknologi dalam Era Digital

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many sectors to innovate, including in the arts and education. Social restrictions, imposed in response to the pandemic, have limited physical gatherings. This has prompted the arts community to look for alternatives to continue their art practices. Virtual choirs are emerging as a solution that allows singers from different locations to stay connected and collaborate in creating art together. The “Virtual Choir Indonesia Menyanyi” project organized by Bandung Choral Society came into the spotlight for successfully gathering individuals from different regions to sing songs collectively through a digital platform, demonstrating the resilience and adaptation of the arts community to the crisis. This research aims to explore the interaction between art and technology in the project, reflecting the convergence between the two fields that enables mass participation without geographical boundaries and creates a space for the unification of Indonesian music culture as a whole.The research method used is a qualitative approach to describe the findings from the needs data analysis with relevant data collection techniques.The results showed that the “Virtual Choir Indonesia Menyanyi” project successfully gathered individuals from various regions collectively through a digital platform, demonstrating the resilience and adaptation of the arts community to the crisis.By combining art and technology, the project created a space for the unification of Indonesian musical culture as a whole, demonstrating the limitless potential of collaboration.This article invites readers to explore how innovation in the arts can be an inspiring solution to modern-day challenges, and to reflect on the role of technology in expanding the boundaries of arts collaboration in the digital age.
