Abstract

The program to strengthen eco-literacy through integrated thematic learning was implemented in Desa Baru Batang Kuis to enhance community awareness and skills in environmental conservation. This program utilized the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, involving various community groups, including PKK mothers, farmers, teachers, youth, and school students. Key activities included eco-literacy workshops, 3R-based waste management training (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and the development of environmentally friendly farming practices. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in community understanding and attitudes, with the average pre-test score of 2.5 increasing to 4.3 in the post-test. The program not only enhanced community knowledge of ecological principles but also encouraged tangible actions in environmental conservation, such as the formation of eco-literacy working groups in the village. Thus, the program successfully created sustainable positive changes in community awareness and behavior toward the environment.
