Abstract

This community service article describes a bead handicraft training program designed to empower adolescents in Dusun V Butrea, Desa Sidomulyo, Kecamatan Tinggi Raja, Kabupaten Asahan. The program was initiated in response to the limited availability of productive youth activities, the lack of practical skills, and the low utilization of creative products as income-generating opportunities. The activity was implemented from 29 October to 20 December 2025 through field observation, informal interviews, socialization, demonstration, guided practice, product production, evaluation, and simple digital marketing assistance. Fifteen adolescents participated in the program. The training materials covered the introduction of bead types, basic knotting techniques, color composition, product design, product pricing, product photography, and promotion through WhatsApp and Facebook. The program produced 75 bracelets, 30 necklaces, 40 keychains, and five new product motifs developed by the participants. In addition, the Creative Youth Group of Butrea was established as a follow-up forum. The results show that simple, low-cost skills training can strengthen creativity, confidence, collaboration, and early entrepreneurial motivation among village adolescents.
